...SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATING SNOW LIKELY WEDNESDAY...

.A STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO TRACK THROUGH THE
TENNESSEE VALLEY ON WEDNESDAY. ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THIS LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM...PRECIPITATION WILL START OUT AS A LIGHT WINTRY
MIX OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET RESULTING IN SOME ICE
ACCUMULATIONS. AS PRECIPITATION TRANSITIONS TO ALL SNOW EARLY
WEDNESDAY MORNING...A BAND OF MODERATE TO AT TIMES HEAVY SNOW IS
EXPECTED TO DEVELOP RESULTING IN SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATING SNOW
ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN INDIANA.

WEDNESDAY EVENING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOUISVILLE HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH
WEDNESDAY EVENING.

* TIMING: RAIN WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA LATE CHRISTMAS NIGHT AND
  MAY TRANSITION OVER TO A WINTRY MIX OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET.
  AS SURFACE TEMPERATURES FALL BELOW FREEZING WEDNESDAY NIGHT
  LIGHT ICE ACCUMULATIONS MAY OCCUR. A TRANSITION TO SNOW IS
  EXPECTED DURING THE PRE-DAWN HOURS WEDNESDAY. SNOW IS EXPECTED
  TO CONTINUE THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON ALTHOUGH.

* ACCUMULATIONS: THREE TO SIX INCH SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE
  POSSIBLE ACROSS THE WATCH AREA WITH ICE ACCUMULATIONS OF LESS
  THAN A TENTH OF AN INCH.

* IMPACTS: SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS MAY CAUSE HAZARDOUS TRAVEL
  CONDITIONS FOR THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS. IN ADDITION...WIND
  GUSTS OF 30 TO 40 MPH MAY CAUSE BRIEF REDUCTIONS IN VISIBILITY
  AND ADD TO TRAVEL HAZARDS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT
SNOW...SLEET...OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL.
