The news you wont see on the news...


-Ever notice live reports on the news, from events that serve alcohol, the really annoying people who show up in the back round and try to disrupt the reporter?  Well one got a little too close for this reporter, but she had an interesting way of handling it.

I believe that's what they call one upping you!  WOW!!!

-From the world of "who thought that would be a good idea" we get this one.  You know how minor league teams LOVE their promotional nights?  Well the minor league hockey team the Rapid City Rush, decided to have a college night promotion with a special halftime event. 

The Rapid City Rush of the Central Hockey League went the non-traditional route with their between periods activities during the January 20th game against Missouri, a night in which students were able to cash in on a buy one, get one free promotion. Instead of fans shooting pucks through a tiny space and into the net for fabulous prizes, the Rush decided to pit a pair of two member teams from opposing schools—South Dakota School of Mines & Technology and Black Hills State University—in something they dubbed the “College Olympics,” which was a relay of sorts that involved the participants running on the ice, riding on a cooler, and spinning around a hockey stick. At some point during the relay the male members of the teams were instructed to chug four beers, which they did, and the result were puketastic.

The relay was deemed the “College Olympics” by the Rush as part of the annual college night promotion where students get two-for-one tickets.

During a race that included running on the ice, riding on a cooler and spinning around a hockey stick, each of the male students chugged four beers. One student vomited twice and the other male student vomited once, according to spectators. A photo shows one student hunched over with an obvious steady stream of vomit pouring from his mouth.

Needless to say, many of the Rush patrons were not impressed with the antics of the college kids, nor with the Rapid City organization for organizing such an inappropriate event. The team’s General Manager, Tim Hill, apologized on behalf of the organization and vowed that something like this would never happen again…

“It was meant to be fun, but it went completely wrong,” said Hill. “I apologize on behalf the organization. Obviously it was in poor taste. The intermission game was not appropriate, and it’s just something we will never do again.”
